Waking up with a sore Neck or back? Poor posture while sleeping can lead to disrupted sleep, increased tension, and poor circulation. 

This can lead to neck, back, and shoulder pain the following morning. Unfortunately, this pain can stay with us throughout the day and may even lead to chronic pain going forward. 

Posture refers to your body position when you are standing, sitting, lying down, and when performing movements such as lifting, bending, and twisting. The fact is, sleeping posture matters. We can make a cognitive effort to maintain a good upright posture during the day, but what happens to our posture when we’re Sleeping? Are there healthy sleeping positions? Or ways to sleep that are better than others? The answer is yes, and the way we sleep influences our posture.

The Importance of Good Sleep Posture

Your sleeping position can have a major impact on your slumber—as well as your overall health. Poor sleep posture could potentially cause back and neck pain, fatigue, sleep apnea, muscle cramping, impaired circulation, headaches, heartburn, tummy troubles, and even premature wrinkles.
